Pulling the Plug: Ethicists Debate Ramirez Case

I found an interesting story on ABC News.com yesterday, which profiles an Arizona man who suffered a sever traumatic brain injury which left him in a minimally-conscious state since a car accident May 30 of this year. Jesse Ramirez was in a coma and was being supported by water and feeding tubes for a little over a week before doctors told family members that Jesse would not recover.

Armywide TBI/PTSD Education Programs Begin Next Month

Next month armywide educational programs will be given on post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries to every solder and leader, in an attempt to remove the current negative perception of seeking medical and psychological treatment for these diseases.

Voices Heard, Sides Taken: NFL Disability Plan Testimony Stirs Passions on Capitol Hill

As retired players and Union officials met yesterday on Capitol Hill to discuss the medical treatment of retired National Football League players, or rather lack there of, many came seeking more than just answers as to why more then 7,700 retired players have been denied medical treatment. After seeing the lack of support and misuse of more than $80 million, retired NFL players are now seeking answers as to why the union refuses to care for the players as they initially promised.

Motorcycle owners rush to beat Sunday deadline

The state of Indiana has been under increasing media attention lately after a bill that was introduced into the House of Representatives passed last week that would increase the motorcycle registration fee from $17 to $27. While normal rate increases are expected, the more than 58% increase is due in large part to raise fund brain and spinal cord injury research.
